Wiston Castle is a ruined castle located in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The castle is believed to have been built in the 12th century by William Marshal, a renowned knight and statesman who served under five British monarchs. Throughout its history, the castle was the site of numerous battles and invasions, including a siege by Welsh forces in the 13th century.
The castle was abandoned by the mid-16th century and fell into disrepair. Today, the ruins of Wiston Castle provide a glimpse into the rich history of Wales and offer visitors a chance to explore the remains of a medieval stronghold. The site is open to the public and is managed by Cadw, the Welsh government's historic environment service.
